Human papillomavirus vaccine administration among women in the Eastern Mediterranean region of Turkey: prevalence and barriers
CONCLUSIONS: The most important barriers to HPV vaccination were the lack of public funding for vaccines and the lack of information. We recommend increasing educational activities on the HPV vaccination program and public funding of vaccination.PMID:37140303 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202304_32126

Biomed Pharmacother. 2023 Mar 23;162:114590. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2023.114590. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCurcumin is a polyphenolic substance extracted from plants such as Curcuma longa, Curcuma zedoaria, and radix curcumae, and it has attracted much attention because of the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor, antibacterial and other multiple pharmacological effects. Establishment of Mono-scaled Benefit/Risk Analysis of HPV Vaccine
In this study, we developed a new method to calculate the benefits and risks of the HPV vaccines using disability-adjusted life year (DALY) as the mono-scaled weight for various benefits and risks relevant to the vaccines. We evaluated benefits as a gain of DALY values for cervical cancer and risks as the loss of DALY values for various adverse events by the vaccination. To calculate the loss of DALY values, we integrated all adverse events in the International Classification of Diseases chapters. The novel method reflected the men-women ratio of this epidemiological disease to a certain extent. Among the vaccinated women,...

What do university students know about cervical cancer and HPV vaccine?
CONCLUSIONS: Medical students' knowledge about cervical cancer and vaccination was more accurate than that of non-medical students. We expect that the public will have an even lower level of knowledge. We recommend including necessary information about the vaccine in schools, colleges, and community education programs.PMID:35647856 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202205_28870
